Hi! I’m Amar, founder of 6aA Underwater Hockey. Player, coach, product designer and most of all, someone that loves and lives for the sport.
Around year 2009 in Barcelona, Spain, myself and my crew started creating equipment for this crazy and beautiful sport of ours, aiming to fill the gap of more professional gear for players at the time.

For years, we designed and produced high quality equipment for elite and social players around the world until the year 2018 when the business was closed after I moved to Australia. It wasn’t until 2025 when stars aligned and the brand was able to make a comeback.
Our first logo brings back memories and nostalgia from a time when we really put our hearts into developing the best possible gear players could get.
So why is it called 6aA? When I started playing back in 2000 in my home country Colombia, referees would yell: “seis al agua!”, which in Spanish means “six players in the water”, as a way of getting players ready for the initial strike of the game, so we just called it that. As the brand grew, we noticed it wasn’t that easy for non-Spanish speakers to pronounce it so the name ended up shortening down to 6aA.

6aA’s HQs is currently based in beautiful Western Australia, home of many world champions and some of the best underwater hockey players the world has seen.
As a brand our goal is still the same, design and produce the highest possible quality of underwater hockey equipment and make it as accessible as it can be for players around the world.
